Full-time National servicemen (NSF)

​CMPB MMI HQ – Doctrine and Training (D&T) Department (EMT Medic)

• Conduct training for newly posted medics to medical centre on essential skills, including proper donning and doffing of PPE, safe administration of medication, ECG procedures, and the operation of ambulance equipment and stretchers.

• Joint team that consists of a medic, doctor, nurses and Military Experts to conduct preparedness exercises and simulations to ensure the medical centre’s capability to respond effectively to emergency scenarios.

• Work with external stakeholders to conduct courses to maintain the skills of the medic posted to medical centres.

• Perform audit checks on the medical centre’s daily operations and compliance with protocols.

Bedok Medical Centre (On-Job Training Medic – 2 Weeks)

• Operated ambulance equipment, stretchers, and patient monitoring devices.

• Trained and operated in the use of the Body Cooling Unit (BCU) and resuscitation trolley for emergencies.

• Performed basic clinical procedures, including ECG, blood sugar monitoring, urine dipstick tests, and vision assessments using the Snellen chart.

• Assisted in the management and treatment of patients with heat injuries.

• Performed blood draws and IV cannula insertions under the supervision of senior medical staff.

Unit Induction Programme (UIP) – 1 week at Nee Soon Camp

• Competent in the administration of medication via intramuscular (IM) and intravenous (IV) routes.

• Competent in performing and interpreting ECGs.

• Competent in blood sugar monitoring and use of 3-way stopcocks.

• Learned and performed the breaking of a glass ampoule and reconstitution.

• Competent in donning and doffing of PPE.

• Performed 4 man resuscitation drill.

• Performed 5 rights and 2 patient identifiers for the administration of medication.

Trainee Medic (EMT) – SMTI @ Nee Soon Camp (Batch P064) – 10 Weeks

• Perform insertion of an intravenous catheter and administration of fluids.

• Learned basic medical skills such as taking vital sign

• Learned about Primary Healthcare skills (ECG, venipuncture and basic wound dressing)

• Management of patients with various conditions.

• Learned the use of the outfield stretcher.

• Management of a patient with a spinal injury.

• Learned and participated in 4 man resuscitation simulation

Enlistee – BMTC School V @ Kranji Camp 2 (Batch 54/25) – 4 Weeks

• Learned basic military knowledge

• Learned basic military drills and marching

• Learned the usage of basic military equipments
